Acne can grow on various parts of the body, including in strange places. It can also be experienced on the inside of the nose.

The appearance of pimples on the inside of the nose can be very annoying and painful. This condition, although not dangerous but can be very disturbing.

Although it’s harmless and annoying, Marisa Garshick, MD, assistant professor of dermatology at Cornell-New York Presbyterian Medical Center, told Livestrong advise against squeezing it. This can have an unhealthy impact on conditions in the nose.

Pimples in the nose or commonly referred to as nasal vestibulitis are basically small bumps of irritation or infection tissue.

“Pimples in the nose can be the result of inflammation of the hair follicles in the nose or the result of clogged pores or oil glands,” explained dr. Garshick.

Although many things can be the cause of this condition, usually this is the result of plucking of nose hairs, the habit of blowing your nose, or even just getting your nose pierced. This problem also tends to be more common in those who have immune problems or diabetes.

This condition is usually more prone to appear in those who are easily at risk of infection. However, in many cases, dr. Garshick said that this problem will heal itself by itself.

However, it is possible that serious complications can sometimes occur. If this pimple is infected, it is likely that this infection will pass through the blood vessels and end up in the brain.

How to fix it

In many cases, these pimples will heal on their own. Even so, in areas that can be reached, you can compress with a warm towel to relieve it.

As much as possible, avoid touching and squeezing the pimple. Popping a pimple can lead to inflammation and further acne problems. In serious cases, infection can occur from this pimple.

“If this lump or pimple doesn’t go away or if there is an increase in pain or tenderness, you should immediately consult a doctor,” explained dr. Garshick.

“The appearance of symptoms such as fever or swelling also needs to be taken seriously and consulted with a doctor,” he continued.

How to Prevent the Appearance of Pimples in the Nose

The best way to prevent pimples on your nose is to keep your fingers away from your nose.

“Avoid the habit of picking your nose or plucking nose hairs,” advised dr. Garshick.

If these pimples keep appearing even though you rarely pick your nose and pluck your nose hairs, this could be caused by excess bacteria in the nostrils. You can clean your nose with a damp cloth with warm water and a little anti-bacterial soap.

A clean nose can prevent frequent nasal acne from forming. If this problem persists, you should immediately consult a doctor.
